FUNCTIONS AT Oak Tree
Set in the market town of Mansfield, this large, friendly pub has a loyal group of regulars in the community. The pub was originally built in 1934 and is said to take its name from a large oak tree that once stood on this site, which was reputedly used for hanging criminals.
The Oak Tree has gone through a few refurbishments during its lifetime, however despite this it has managed to retain it's traditional charm. Many attractive features remain in place, including the large bay windows which give off an abundance of light and a wooden-panelled bar, the highlight of the open-plan interior. There is also a variety of seating, from comfortable banquettes to regular wooden table and chairs. But while the décor at the Oak Tree is strictly traditional, the facilities take a modern approach. The pub has seven big TV screens regularly enjoyed by sport-obsessed locals who flock to enjoy the big games live.
The Oak Tree's cellar space is the perfect space to rent out for private events. In its own space away from the main bar, it has a range of eye-catching features with its striking curved stone ceiling, wooden beams and unusual stone top bar.
The room can hold up to 60 people and can be adapted to suit a variety of private events. For business meetings, there is a TV screen that can be hooked up to laptops for presentations, while the dance floor is ideal for weddings, family or work parties, and event organisers can even use their iPhone to stream music into the venue. The TV screen can also show BT and Sky Sports matches should you want to get together with fellow fans to cheer on your favourite team.
The Oak Tree attracts a mix of workers and local residents due to its location centrally to both residential and business areas. The historic market town of Mansfield is a lovely spot for shopping and wandering, and is less than 10 minutes’ drive away. After exploring the pedestrianised town centre, join the locals for a pint in this cheerful and welcoming traditional pub.
