FUNCTIONS AT Old Bank
The Old Bank pub building dates back to the Victorian era, a time when the city was thriving. The opening of the Grand Union Canal and the railway together with the city’s flourishing boot-making industry, brought great prosperity to the region during the industrial era.
Inside the pub is spacious spreading across two floors with a large bar dominating the bottom level. Besides drinking and dining, guests can also entertain themselves with games of darts or pool, or by watching live matches on one of the pub’s nine TV screens or two projectors. Even the walled outdoor beer garden has its own bar and TV.
During weekdays, the pub fills with workrs piling in for after-work drinks. On the weekend the pub is popular with shoppers and sports fans during the day time. During the evening the pub is popular with people attending the nearby Royal & Derngate theatre who stop off at the pub for a pre-show tipple, encouraged by the discount offered to those with tickets.
The Old Bank’s mezzanine area is the perfect place to hire for private events. It can hold up to 60 seated guests and 100 standing, and is perfect for weddings, birthdays and work parties. Though it has its own dedicated bar, entrance and toilets, the mezzanine also overlooks the main bar below so your guests won’t feel isolated from the ground-level action. With a plasma screen TV as well as a projector and large screen on hand, the space is also well-suited to live sport screenings.
