FUNCTIONS AT Shakespeares Head
Shakespeares head was first built in 1735, before being reconstructed in the 19th century to its original Tudor style. The pub was formerly owned by Thomas and John Shakespeare, distant relatives to William Shakespeare himself.
Split across two levels, the pub is roomy, yet intimate with its wood panelling and crackling fires creating a cosy, traditional atmosphere. For the warmer months outside you will find a spacious outdoor area to dine.
Whether you choose to dine outside or in, you can expect to be joined by a lively crowd of shoppers and young local professionals. Our regulars also enjoy our wonderful selection of cask ales and craft beers.
Upstairs is where you will find our spacial function room which can acommodate up to 60 people seated or 100 people standing, making it the perfect location for dinner functions or large parties. The function room is filled with traiditonal decor, with leaded light windows complimenting the lovely views of the vibrant street below.
With a large TV and access to both BT Sport and Sky Sports, our room is a popular choice for private viewings of all the big sport games. Our function room also has its own bar, toilets and fireplace.
