FUNCTIONS AT Kings Arms
Established in 1878, this charismatic pub sits in a charming little part of Mayfair. Entering from Curzon Street is like entering Diagon Alley in Harry Potter. You pass through a narrow little passage and a whole neighbourhood opens up with restaurants, shops and proper pubs like the Kings Arms.
There may be over 50 pubs in London alone whom share its name, but this Kings Arms is not one to miss as it has been frequented by royalty, as well as celebrity royalty, with the likes of Johnny Depp and rock stars Arctic Monkeys known to have enjoyed a drink within its walls. In 1660, the site was sold to Edward Sheppard from Nathaniel Curzon for the sum of £8.The King’s Arms pub sign would not have be used in the Common Wealth, but instead is used as proud declaration of loyalty to monarch since the ‘Restoration’.
The Restoration of the English monarchy began in 1660 when the English, Scottish and Irish monarchies were all restored under Charles II after the Interregnum that followed the Wars of the Three Kingdoms. Today at the Kings Arms we also show all major sports. The pub is spread over two floors with a bar on each. Solid dark beams hold up the ceiling with rippling plastered walls and a row of windows that look down into the square below.
We have a spacious Mayfair function room available for hire for events and special occasions. Whether it’s a birthday, business meeting or tour group stop-off, our friendly team will be on hand to ensure every aspect of your function runs smoothly. We also have a varied menu of food and drink that can be tailored to suit your budget and the need of your guests. We look forward to welcoming your function to The Kings Arms.
