Built in 1843, the Chelsea Potter was originally called the “Commercial Tavern” until 1958, when it was renamed to commemorate the great ceramics artist William de Morgan, who founded his legendary Chelsea pottery in 1872. With ornate decor to match its heritage, the pub has welcomed many famous names in its time, playing host to both Jimi Hendrix and the Rolling Stones in the swinging sixties.
