Albert

Grade II listed Victorian pub with striking original features and Parliamentary Bell in Victoria, London. Serving real ales and traditional food with sports viewing in the heart of Westminster. A must-see for tourists and locals alike. Well-known for its eye-catching frontage and traditional interior, the Albert pub offers a warm welcome and a rich history. Just a short work from the Palace of Westminster, the pub sits on the site of an earlier pub, the Blue Coat Boy, and was renamed in honour of Queen Victoria’s husband. Built in 1862, the pub is the only remaining building from the original phase of the development of Victoria Street. Having survived the Blitz, the Albert’s original features remain virtually untouched to this day, so visitors can still enjoy its ornate ceilings, hand-etched frosted glass windows and wrought iron balconies. Sitting so close to the Houses of Parliament, the pub has played host to many political figures over the years, and the original House of Commons Division Bell, traditionally used to call MPs to vote, can still be seen in the Dining Room today. The pub also features a Prime Ministers’ Gallery, honouring the country’s past leaders, many of whom have enjoyed a visit to the Albert.
