MOR IRISH GIN
THE ADVENTUROUS SPIRIT
Mor is a bold and innovative gin made with old school traditions at the Arderin Distillery in Tullamare, Co Offaly - a craft distillery founded by Eoin Bara in 2015.
The inspiration for the gin came from tales of relentless adventure and distilling legacy stretching back three generations to the 1930s when Eoin's grandfather was a Master distiller of a world renowned Irish Whiskey in the same town.
The gin is used with natural ingredients which means that every bottle is unique. Each blend is tested for flavour, strength and consistency each time. Our unique blend of botanicals are hand mixed and stepped to create the perfect balance of flavours.
Following that fresh water is lightly filtered through the blend to add a crisp, clear, finish to the wild, bold, flavour our gin is known for.
Big and bold flavours are key to the gin. The guiding principle is a taste not acquired but enjoyed.
Earthy at first, with coriander and rosemary making a big impression. Sweet and juicy with big bundles of fresh berry notes at the core. A slight peppery hint on the finish.
The key ingredient to all gin. The aroma and taste of juniper is th signature note which makes gin an incomparable spirit.
Cranberry pairs well with rosemary, and rounds the sweetness of the other two berries. Allowing for a fuller flavour
The sweet-tart flavour and earthy quality of Blackberries adds both a sweet and savoury profile to our gin. The moderately high acidity of Blackberries cuts through the rich flavours of our botanicals.
The star berry of Mór, a distinct flavour like no other. Sweet but not sugary, balanced and refined.
SMALL BATCH, BIG FLAVOUR
Each of the botanical elements within the gin are chosen with care and attention to flavour and fragrance. The gin is made using a four part distillation method.
Fresh blackberries, cranberries and raspberries are steeped overnight and distilled before being blended with the four core botanicals of juniper, rosemary, angelica root & coriander. Through steeping the botanicals this allows each ingredient to release its full flavour, helping to create this unique bold flavour for our quality gin.
The average batch size is around 1200L. Fresh fruit is sourced in the summer from Ireland as much as possible such as raspberries, blackberries and rosemary. The juniper comes from Macedonia, the coriander from Italy, cranberries from the USA and German angelica root.
