We are Francis, Jonathan, Matthew and Daniel.

Four Brothers and 14th generation cider makers, our family has been making Cider in Shepton Mallet in Somerset since 1658. This is the first documented evidence of Gabriel Showering, our uncle, taking his cider around the public houses of Shepton Mallet, Wells & Glastonbury.

In 1847 our family opened their first pub, The Kings Arms in Shepton Mallet. It was hard work but our ancestors were not shirkers, so we opened more pubs, like the usually named Black Swan, also in Shepton Mallet. Our family also supplied Cider to the NAFFI during World War Two and have been involved with developing, producing and selling some great cider and perry brands over the last century.

These days we are based at the Cider Mill our Grandfather built in Shepton Mallet. Our Mill has the capacity to make millions of litres of cider, using apples collected from local orchards turned to juice in our own fruit presses. We oversee the whole cidermaking process to this day, from harvested apple to finished product.

Brothers Cider was born in a field in Somerset. We first started selling Brothers at the Glastonbury Festival in 1995 near what was then called the Jazz World Stage. These days it is called the West Holts Stage but our bar is still in the same place.

Every Wednesday and Thursday night at the Festival, our bar becomes the ultimate meeting place where friends can come together and celebrate. With music and dancing, our bar lights up, with the sound of laughter and conversation buzzing over our famous playlist of feel good songs. We still serve our famous Festival Pear Cider, with a range of fruit flavours available and over the years are bar has provided refreshment to hundreds of thousands of thirsty festival goers.

Today Brothers Cider remains the original festival cider brand, and you can find us in supermarkets and pubs all over the UK, as well as at many festivals including Glastonbury. Our brand has a spirit of independence and celebration and we aim to bring the festival experience into the life of our fans all year round.

We have developed a name for ourselves as cider innovators, and are constantly experimenting with quirky flavour combinations that will intrigue and delight our customers including Toffee Apple and Coconut & Lime flavoured ciders.

Brothers Rhubarb & Custard is the latest flavour to join the Brothers Family, although we can’t take the credit for the idea. Brothers Rhubarb & Custard Cider was originally suggested by a fan for a flavour competition back in 2006, when it was released as a limited edition flavour. The recipe was rediscovered this year and we are delighted to be partnering with Greene King to bring this sensationally sweet, tangy and creamy delight back on sale!
