The Function Room - We have a venue fit for every occasion

A Victorian gem in the busy area of Westminster. This pub is full of character and famous for its attractive frontage and traditional interior.

This Grade II listed pub is as well-known for its eye-catching frontage and traditional interior as it is for the warm welcome and hospitality. It is a small walk from the Houses of Parliament, and situated on the site of an earlier pub, The Blue Coat Boy. The Albert has over 150 years of history. In the mid-19th century the Artillery Brewery purchased the pub for £978 , they renamed it The Albert, this was in tribute to Queen Victoria’s husband.

The Albert is found in the centre of Westminster, with its striking façade and superb Victorian detail. It was built in 1862 and is the only remaining building from the original phase of the development of Victoria Street.

The Albert was a survivor of the Blitz and its Victorian features have stayed virtually untouched. There are many original features for you to enjoy, including ornate ceilings, hand-etched frosted glass windows and wrought iron balconies. There is some special memorabilia, including the House of Commons Division Bell and one of Queen Victoria’s napkins. There is also a Prime Minister’s gallery, which is an acknowledgement to political figures of the past, some of whom have visited and enjoyed the offerings of The Albert.
